The Yamuna Expressway Authority recently conducted a draw to allocate 109 industrial plots in Sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33 along the Yamuna Expressway, connecting Greater Noida with Agra. The lucky draw is expected to generate approximately Rs 136 crore in revenue for the Authority.
In October 2023, YEIDA initiated a scheme for the sale of these plots, catering to various industries such as toy parks, handicrafts, furniture manufacturing, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The response was overwhelming, with 3,276 applications received for the 109 plots.
Out of the total applications, 3,234 were found eligible for the draw. This heightened interest underscores the attractiveness of the scheme. Industrial plots were offered in eight different sizes, ranging from 300 square meters to 4,000 square meters.
The proposed investment on these industrial plots is an impressive Rs 16,498 crore, with an estimated job creation of 5,132 positions. This substantial economic impact is a testament to the scheme’s potential.
It’s noteworthy that the allocation process has undergone a shift. Plots up to 4,000 square meters are now allotted through a draw of lots or lottery system. For larger plots, the allotment is based on the company’s profile and an interview process.
