Delhi-Noida Airport-Mumbai Expressway Link Road Set to Open by 2024 End

A new six-lane highway stretching over 60 km and connecting Delhi to the upcoming Noida International Airport and the bustling Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is on track for completion by the end of 2024. The endeavor, spearheaded by Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, is aimed at easing traffic flow and enhancing connectivity in the region.

Key Features of the Corridor

The ambitious project, with an estimated cost of Rs 4,463 crore, boasts an impressive infrastructure lineup, including eight elevated sections, 10 flyovers, and six busways. Moreover, it incorporates three-lane service roads on both sides, ensuring smooth access for commuters.

Alleviating Traffic Woes in Delhi

Primarily conceived to alleviate congestion in the national capital, the initiative promises direct connectivity for motorists from northern and eastern parts of Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. Furthermore, it facilitates seamless travel to prominent destinations such as Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Mumbai via NH 48. Additionally, it offers convenient access to Kanpur, Lucknow, and Kolkata through NH 19.

Linking to the Noida Airport

Notably, the roadway will seamlessly link to the upcoming Noida airport in Jewar through a dedicated 33 km stretch, slated for completion by June of this year for Rs 1,660 crore. These developments form part of a larger Rs 5,000 crore strategy aimed at decongesting Delhi’s bustling thoroughfares.

Comprehensive Decongestion Plan

In addition to the aforementioned projects, several other endeavors are underway to ease traffic woes in the national capital. These include the 29-km, eight-lane access-controlled Dwarka Expressway, along with various segments of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Other notable initiatives encompass the expansion of the Khekra-EPE junction to Shamli-Saharanpur, the construction of the Rangpuri Bypass to connect Dwarka/NH-08 with Vasant Kunj-Nelson Mandela Road, the development of the Urban Extension Road (UER-2), and the creation of a third Ring Road for Delhi under the Bharatmala project. Additionally, a 31.3-km, six-lane access-controlled corridor from Akshardham NH-24 Junction to EPE Junction on Baghpat Road is also in progress.

Positive Impact on the Noida Property Market

Experts anticipate a significant boost to the Noida property market due to improved connectivity with Delhi and the proximity to the upcoming airport. According to a report by The Economic Times, enhanced accessibility often correlates with increased demand for real estate properties. The ease of commuting afforded by the new highway is expected to attract investors and Homebuyers alike, leading to a surge in property values and development activities in the region.
