Direct Connectivity from Greater Noida to Noida Expressway with Jhatta Underpass

Noida Expressway

The much-anticipated Jhatta underpass in Noida is set to revolutionize traffic management in the region. Aimed at easing congestion, this infrastructure project will provide direct access to the Noida Expressway for vehicles traveling from Greater Noida via the Hindon Bridge.

Seamless Connectivity for Greater Noida Travelers

A New Route from Greater Noida to the Jhatta Underpass

Vehicles traveling from Greater Noida’s LG Chowk will soon enjoy direct access to the Jhatta underpass. A bridge is being constructed on the Hindon River, near Sector-146, to facilitate this connectivity. The approach road to the Hindon bridge will connect seamlessly to the Jhatta underpass, which will feature a straight path turning left towards Sector-146 and linking to a 45-meter-wide road.

This newly designed approach road will slope downward, enabling smooth entry to the underpass. As part of the project, a stretch of approximately 700 meters will connect the 45-meter-wide road to the underpass. This will allow vehicles coming from the Hindon bridge to cross the underpass and head directly to the Noida Expressway. Similarly, traffic from Sector-155 will gain a streamlined route to Greater Noida through the Jhatta underpass and the Hindon bridge.

Key Project Details: Hindon Bridge and Jhatta Underpass

Construction Plans and Progress

The Noida Authority has confirmed that the plan for this project was devised some time ago. Currently, construction work on the Hindon bridge and its approach road is progressing steadily. Once completed, the approach road will cross the Pushta area and connect to Sector-145.

A pre-existing 45-meter-wide road in the area will support the descending traffic from the Hindon bridge approach. This road will extend from the underpass and curve left to join the same 45-meter-wide road at a designated point. This alignment is designed to enhance connectivity between the underpass and the expressway, ensuring efficient traffic flow.

Anticipated Benefits: Smoother Traffic and Reduced Congestion

Enhanced Mobility for Nearby Sectors and Villages

The Jhatta underpass will significantly improve traffic flow between key sectors and nearby villages. Traffic originating from areas like Sector-155, 159, Jhatta, Nalgarha, Kambakhshpur, Badauli, Dairy Pandit, Momnathal, Garhi Samastipur, and others will find a more convenient route to the Noida Expressway and Greater Noida.

Positioned between Sectors 145, 146, 155, and 159, the underpass has been meticulously designed to accommodate the growing traffic demand in the region. Approved by IIT, this Rs. 117-crore project is set to minimize congestion and create a direct link to the Noida Expressway, making commutes faster and safer.

Final Steps Before Implementation

The Authority’s Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO), Sanjay Khatri, has confirmed that the tender for constructing the underpass will be issued shortly. Once operational, this underpass is expected to redefine connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida, offering a smoother journey for all commuters.

Conclusion

The Jhatta underpass project stands as a testament to Noida’s commitment to improving infrastructure and traffic management. With direct access to the Noida Expressway for vehicles from Greater Noida, this project promises to reduce congestion and enhance mobility in the region. Its strategic design and seamless integration with existing roads highlight its importance in the broader development of Noida and Greater Noida’s transport network.
