
Jewar Airport Set to Open in April 2025
Jewar International Airport, set to become the largest airport in Asia, is expected to start regular flights in April 2025. This was confirmed by Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, as reported by The Economic Times.
Progress on Schedule
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, the minister stated that the airport is progressing as planned. A validation flight was successfully conducted in December 2024, ensuring that the airport is on track for its scheduled launch.
“Jewar airport is becoming the biggest airport in the country and in Asia. We completed the validation flight in December, and everything is going as per schedule. By April, we will see regular operations from Jewar-Noida International Airport,” Naidu stated, according to The Economic Times.
Airlines Ready to Operate
Several major airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, are preparing to start services at Jewar International Airport. This will greatly improve both domestic and international travel options.
Boost to Regional Connectivity
Located near the Noida Expressway, Jewar International Airport is expected to boost regional connectivity. The government is also working on enhancing road networks to make it easier for passengers and cargo to reach the airport smoothly.
Government’s Long-Term Aviation Plans
In addition to this, the minister shared the government’s long-term plans for aviation. The UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, which promotes regional air travel, will be extended for another ten years.
